Sweet Dreams Films is a company specializing in the production of feature films as well as a production service for foreign films in France. 

In 2019, Sweet Dreams Films produced the parisian shoot of the Franco-Chinese feature film Fox Hunt directed by Leo Zhang (starring Tony Leung and Olga Kurylenko) and in 2022 co-produced Dominique Filhol's first feature film, Valensole (starring Matthias Van Khache and Vahina Giocante).

Sweet Dreams Films brings together producers with different profiles, all with over 10 years of experience in the film and TV industry, both in France and abroad.

Currently, Sweet Dreams Films is developing several feature films and series projects.

FOUNDER & CEO - PRODUCER

Steve René lived in China for more than 10 years. After studying law, he moved to Beijing in 2004 to learn Mandarin. He worked as a project manager for the Unifrance office in Beijing, in charge of promoting French cinema internationally. As part of his duties, he accompanied artistic delegations to various film festivals.

In 2009 he met the film director Philippe Muyl (The Butterfly), and went on to produce the feature film The Nightingale with his partner Ning Ning and in co-production with Pan Eurasia Films. This film was the second official Franco-Chinese co-production and was chosen to represent China in the race for the 2015 Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film.

In 2017, Steve René began production for the Franco-Chinese feature film Fox Hunt, with principal photography taking place in 2019 in Paris and Shanghai.
In 2022 he co-produced the French feature film Valensole.

NING NING
NING NING
PRODUCER

Ning Ning began her acting career in China at the age of 6. Thanks to her different roles, she got noticed by a television producer who asked her to become a presenter. Building on her success and her passion, she was a TV presenter for more than 10 years for the programs of BTV (Beijing Television) CCTV (China Central Television) and Macau TV.

In 2006, she decided to return to her first passion, cinema, by founding Envision Films in partnership with Steve René. They produced together The Nightingale directed by Philippe Muyl, celebrating the second Franco-Chinese co-production, which will lead to Ning Ning being named « Chevalier des arts et des lettres » by the French Ministry of Culture in 2015

She then went on to work on Leo Zhang’s second feature film, Fox Hunt.

DARRELL LEE HALL
PRODUCER

After a master's degree in film studies and a two year course in filmmaking at Luc Besson's film school in Paris, Darrell Lee Hall went on to work in film production. With over ten years of experience, he works just as well in film (Taken 3The Transporter Refueled...), as in television (Versailles...) without forgetting in recent years streaming platforms (The Gray Man for Netflix, Miskina la Pauvre for Amazon Prime).

In 2016, he founded Apollo's Lyre, where he produces and directs music videos for independent music artists.

Darrell Lee Hall is also the director of several short films and music videos which have received various nominations and awards at film festivals around the world.
